Popular Ghanaian Sports Journalist with Asempa FM, Enoch Worlanyo Wallace has hit heavily on the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku for his lack of critical thinking in uplifting the fortunes of Ghana Football in respect of Infrastructure development.
Known for his vociferous, and strong opinion on the state of Ghana’s Football, Prof Wallace called on the President of the Ghana FA to desist from populist activities that seek to put the National Sports Authority in an awkward position, and face the realities of being creative in his capacity as the president of Ghana Football
The National Sports Authority at the begining of December closes the Accra Sports Stadium and asked all clubs suing the facility to look elsewhere to stage their competitions, a case that has seen Accra Hearta of Oak, Accra Great Olympics, Accra Lions and some other female clubs move their home games to Kumasi and other parts of the country.
This move, the GFA President deem embarrasing, and took to his facebook page to criticize the National Sports Authority, inssisting their action is unacceptable.
The GFA president in his post maintained the action should never be repeated in future
“What the NSA has done to football and Sports this Month should never happen again, its just not acceptable“, Kurt worte on his facbook page
“The National Sports Authority has a tax obligation to meet at the end of the year, having failed to meet their target since 2019, The GFA has failed to put in place innovative programs that can attract supporters to the stadium to meed their financial obligation to the Sports Authority, the action of the National Sports Authority is a clear signal for the football clubs to acquire their own match venues” Prof Wallce said.
The experienced journalist maintains the Ghana FA has failed to expalin how much and what the association is doing with the monies that the country made from the World cup, but is alwasy stuck in the same old ways of running the association, stressing they must develop modern and scientific methods in ensuring the clubs and other stakeholders have the full benefits of the World cup money
“The FA President must Shut up, the Football clubs and the association have failed to make any reasonable and meaningful case to be considered by the government towards the development of sporting infrastructure in the country, Kurt Okraku must stop using Social media to spike public outrage against the National Sports AUTHORITY who have some financial obligatuion to meet before the year ends“
Prof Wallace further inssisted the Ghana FA could have developed the Prampram centre to ensure the facility is up to the highest standard enough to host top class competitions involving National Teams and club.
