BREAKING – Black Queens cry for help after GFA Leadership abandon team in Morocco

The Black Queens of Ghana have sent an SOS message to Ghanaians and the president of Ghana John Mahama to come to their aid having been abandoned in Morocco with no leader, and no hope of whats at stake going into the 2024 WAFCON

The Queens who are preparing for the 15ht edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations left Ghana more than a month ago with  no leader from the Ghana Football Association or the Government.

The Team whose leader, Gifty Oware Mensah has been accused of corruption could not travel with them to their pre tournament camping, with only the coach and his other technical staff in charge

With just 4 days to the start of the competition, the team has not had any financial discussion with the Ghana FA or the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.

A member of the Playing body who spoke to this media said they have not been paid any per diem since embarking on the pre tournament camping, and do not know their fate going into the competition.

‘We are owed 3 weeks of per diem, and there has not been any information from the GFA with just 4 days to start the tournament’, She said.

Asked if the team intended to boycott the tournament, the Player said even though they are owed monies, they do not intend to boycott the competition but will appeal to the Ghana FA and the Government to respond to their plea and pay their per diem before they play their first game.
